Gerard hopes to improve on his fifth-place finish in the event at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
It has been four years since the Colorado native made headlines across the world on the slopes in the Republic of Korea when, at the age of 17, he became the youngest snowboarder in history to win gold by placing first in slopestyle.
Gerrard placed fourth overall at the Beijing 2022 slopestyle competition. Now that he has reached the big time, the 5′ 5″ prankster plans to show off his originality and unconventional style.

Slopestyle’s 2022 Olympic gold medalists, Red Gerard and Jamie Anderson, were the defending champions. This week marked the first time in the history of the slopestyle event that the United States did not return home with the gold medal.
On Sunday, Anderson placed ninth in the women’s competition, while on Monday, Gerard placed fourth in the men’s competition. In spite of having a greater chance than most, Gerard will depart the Olympic mountain site without a medal after being knocked off the podium by the final opponent who may have won.
